Private guest room opening onto tropical patio and pool. Arizona State University professor of French literature welcomes gay and gay-friendly visitors in his home in beautiful Scottsdale, Arizona. Warm winters and 330 sunny days a year. Living room, kitchen and dining room in the front of the house available for use by guests. Private bath. Folding bed in living room for third guest by advance arrangement. Jacuzzi. Wifi. Cable television. Grand piano. Large professor's library with many volumes on gay history. Large collection of opera dvd's and rare opera cd's and lp's , especially of Maria Callas.

Fifteen-minute walk into Old-Town Scottsdale, shops and restaurants, and our fun local gay-bar. Fashion Square Mall, convention hotels and resorts twenty minute walk away. Our local bar, the BS West, is fun, well known and crowded with students Wednesdays. 20 minute walk. There are many gay and lesbian bars and clubs in downtown Phoenix, 20 minutes away by car. Local trolley service during the day in Old Town Scottsdale. Twenty minutes by car to downtown Phoenix and Arizona State University. No night bus service and very limited service in the day. Gays and lesbians will feel entirely at home at my house. I have been a gay activist and scholar since the late 1960's and am writing my memoirs. I welcome input, but your privacy will be respected if you just want to hang out at the pool or read and listen to music in the salon.

Sights: Short walk to shops and restaurants, resorts, mega-mall and Old Town Scottsdale. Studio of Frank Lloyd Wright in far north Scottsdale. Bus tours to Sedona and the Grand Canyon leave from a hotel 10 minutes walk away. Magnificent Arizona scenery by day trips in car. Deserts, Spanish missions and Indian ruins in the south; and forests, ski resorts and Grand Canyon in the north. Rental car recommended in July and August. Intense heat to 48 (118) degrees.


House Rules:
Check-in time until: midnight or later by arrangement
Check-out time until: 6:00 pm if no check in's. You are welcome to leave luggage and spend afternoon by pool if the room is needed after noon.
Guests may use salon and dining room and entertain with advance arrangement. Kitchen may be used to prepare and dining room to serve lunch and in the evening, but everything must be cleaned afterward.
Gentlemen and lady callers by prior arrangement.
Smoking permitted. Host smokes. Shy cat on premises.

Payment in full in cash upon arrival. $100 security deposit returned at departure.
Two nights minimum stay.


Directions (e. g. from the airport or central train station) 20 minute cab ($20) from airport. Shuttle service cheaper. No public transportation. By car: take "East Valley Cities" exit at airport onto 202; exit at first exit, Priest; turn left at light; continue straight for entire drive, over mountain past main streets until street becomes 64th street and ends at light at Indian School Road; turn right and take first right south into 68th street; pass another Pueblo Way by Valley Ho hotel and pass first and second; after third street, next right into Pueblo Way. Second white house with vines on left. 3508 N. Pueblo Way. 2 short blocks nw of 68th and Osborn streets. not the other Pueblo Way by 68th and Indian School.
